Sending the rest to landfills. Preventing litter. Spiffing up our neighborhoods. For more than 20 years, Keep Chicago Beautiful has successfully taught the program known nationwide as the 'Chicago Model' of the "Waste in Place" curriculum to thousands of school teachers and those studying to be teachers, in the Chicago area, who, in turn, have taught hundreds of thousands of children the key concepts of the benefits of eliminating litter and reducing solid waste through conservation, reuse and recycling.
